The Li Research Group focuses on architecting materials and interfaces for electrochemical systems. Our research integrates materials chemistry, interfacial science, and structural engineering to address fundamental challenges in energy conversion, energy storage, catalysis, and electrochemical separations.
Electrochemical performance is governed not only by material composition, but also by how materials are structured, how interfaces are formed, and how mass, charge, and reactions are coupled across length scales. We design materials and architectures that explicitly account for these interactions, enabling electrochemical systems that operate efficiently, reliably, and under demanding conditions.
